Leave it in God’s hands – Romans 8:25

Romans 8:25 But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.

I wrote these words a while back and they startled me today:

“Whatever you place in God’s hands is secure.” – Unknown author

I don’t recall who said them, but it was important enough for me to make the note to myself.

My relationship with God is vibrant, living and real. The Lord has done and/or put into motion many wonderful things for me.

But…

That but.

But I struggle with waiting patiently and confidently.

I should know better.

The LORD knows my human condition.

He knows your condition, too.

Reflecting on the Papal election and my childhood

March 16, 2013 My First Communion Day with Tia Lupita  I was born into a deeply devout Catholic family  so it was natural for me to be moved by the selection of a new Pope.  We attended Spanish/Latin Mass at 7 a.m. every Sunday and I went to Catechism class each Wednesday (when I  didn't  play hooky with my best friend...sorry grandmother). J   I also celebrated my First Communion, Confirmation and  Quinceañera   with full blown Mexican-American family celebrations. My mother celebrating my Quinceanera with me. It was a big deal. Along the journey, most of the family left the church except my mom.  We found different congregations to fellowship and worship the Lord.  I dropped church and belief in God altogether for many years. If not you, then who? 2 Corinthians 4:1

Good Friday, April 22, 2011 2 Corinthians 4:1 We don't become discouraged, since God has given us this ministry through his mercy. It doesn’t matter how close you are to God, at some point you may feel discouraged and elect to take a break. Take a short break, pull yourself together and make sure you stay connected to God because you are needed for the purposes for which He made you. That has become quite clear in my journey. Real dependence on God begins when you lay your sins and burdens at the foot of the cross. Once you reveal your true heart to God, he opens doors that you can walk through even while storms are raging in your own world. He knows that you are not perfect, but he knows why you were created and where/when he needs you. God works through us to accomplish his purposes.
