Trusting God through a health crisis

Image
It's been a year since I broke my ankle .    I've  been thinking about how God saw me through. I gained spiritual maturity and closeness to God.  If you fear for your health, trust God.  The Bible gives examples of God giving "prescription" for healing.  He uses doctors and others in miraculous ways.  Be encouraged. I share my notes based on Dr. David Jeremiah's sermon, “ Fearing for your health .” Isaiah 38:21 For Isaiah had told Hezekiah’s servants, “Make an ointment of figs and spread it over the boil, and he will get well again.” God gave a prescription for Hezekiah's illness. God uses medications / people to help us. 1.    Control  your mind – 2 Timothy 1:7 The Voice You see, God did not give us a cowardly spirit but a powerful, loving, and disciplined spirit. Proverbs 18:14   The human spirit   can endure a long illness, but who can survive a crushe...

My notes from Dr. Stanley's sermon Find it  here:   http://www.intouch.org/broadcast/today-on-radio Sermon dated Aug. 7, 2013:  How to walk wisely Take notes! 1. You must make the decision to walk wisely. 2. Stay in the word--meditate on the Bible. Ask questions. Joshua 1:8 Let the words from the book of the law be always on your lips. Meditate on them day and night so that you may be careful to live by all that is written in it. If you do, as you make your way through this world, you will prosper and always find success.  --God will give you understanding, if you ask for it. 3. Be sensitive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. We learn by failure and mistakes. 4. Believe that God is all wise. 5. Trust God. Obey and leave all the consequences to him. 6. Have courage to do what God says when you don't understand. Better to fail in front of others and not in front of God.  Be courageous. Watch God build your c...

The strong life: My notes from a sermon by Dr. Charles Stanley -Matthew 7:24-29

You can find Dr. Stanley's message here - it's called A Strong Life dated 9-13-2013:   http://www.intouch.org/broadcast/today-on-radio Matthew 7:24-29 “All who listen to my instructions and follow them are wise, like a man who builds his house on solid rock. Though the rain comes in torrents, and the floods rise and the storm winds beat against his house, it won’t collapse, for it is built on rock.  “But those who hear my instructions and ignore them are foolish, like a man who builds his house on sand.   For when the rains and floods come, and storm winds beat against his house, it will fall with a mighty crash.”  The crowds were amazed at Jesus’ sermons, for he taught as one who had great authority, and not as their Jewish leaders. 1.   Place trust in Jesus.  2.   Guided by the Holy Spirit. Indwelled. For God's purpose. 3.   Priority: spend time with God in prayer. He is first. 4.   Teaching and application of ...

Philippians 4:13  I can be content in any and every situation through the Anointed One who is my power and strength.   gratitude     —  n a   feeling   of   thankfulness   or   appreciation,  as for gifts or  favours [The World English Dictionary] August 6, 2013 Gratitude is great for the soul My heart is filled with gratitude because I made it unscathed through 11 months in the valley of life. Now I’m pausing to be grateful and to remember that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. (Philippians 4:13) The gratitude note cup was an idea from my Pinterest boards. Only the top 4 are in order. The first 50 entries are mostly but not all work-related since that’s where I keep the gratitude cup. My Twitter friend @Sojourner5’s #gratitude100 Twitter hashtag and gratitude blog post  also inspired me to compile my list, today. Right...
